The Science department offers all Regents-level science courses, namely Living Environment, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics. To provide students with an enriching experience, students have the opportunity to choose from a variety of science-based electives such as Advanced Placement Biology, Advanced Placement Physics, Forensics, Environmental Chemistry, and Science Research. Through a partnership with SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry, students can participate in a Global Environment course, where they can earn up to four college credits. In addition to their Regents-level science course, all freshmen take Environmental Seminar which provides students with a foundation in environmental science, research, writing, and presentation skills. The Science department also houses a state-of-the-art molecular biology research laboratory which supports an urban DNA bar-coding project.
